Upper School Club Fair Introduces Various Opportunities to Students
The Upper School hosted its annual club fair in the Healy Gymnasium on Wednesday, September 11. Over 30 clubs took part in the annual event.
This year’s club fair included upper school club offerings that focus on competition, volunteering, scholarship, and specific interests. Many clubs have accomplishments that they are proud to showcase: From the Benjineers engineering club who qualified for a national engineering competition to the French Club and the Spanish Club who made outstanding achievements in state language competitions and brought home countless awards. The Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), although founded only a year ago, already had a club member win first place in the organization’s state-wide competition.

Other clubs focus on community service and volunteering. The Habitat for Humanity Club is a non-profit organization that helps to build houses for families who cannot afford them. The Red Cross Club organizes bi-annual blood drives and makes no-sew blankets for children in the hospital, to comfort them and make them feel less lonely.
The club fair also has clubs that are organized around a particular interest. The Mindful student was founded to help students relieve stress and explore spirituality through meditation. The Glee Club gathers a group of music lovers who sing and dance in the variety show and other school events. These clubs, along with the Science Club, Jazz Club, and Political Club, enable students to share their hobbies and meet new friends.
Students who excel in arts or math are welcomed by The National Art Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. The NAHS publishes their art magazine every year, while Mu Alpha Theta fosters students’ passion for math by setting up school-wide challenges and helping students with their math work at school.
Students can look forward to an enriching semester full of club offerings as these organizations being to have their first meetings and solidify their agendas for the months to come.
