MS Coding Team Reaches Quarterfinal Competition

The Benjamin Middle School CoderZ team competed in the CoderZ Junior League quarterfinals on December 23. The competition aims to encourage the next generation of coders in a virtual robotics competition. Every student in the middle school worked on creating the code, with assigned team captains for each grade level.

The BinaryBucs valiantly competed, scoring two victories in the quarterfinal round. They were ultimately felled in the Semifinals.

“Although we didn’t seize the regional trophy, we had an exciting and successful season marked by ingenuity, dedication, and teamwork,” said coach and middle school science teacher Stacy Schnurr.

Schnurr said she was proud of the team’s accomplishments in a host of roles including code writing, strategizing, testing, and collaboration.

“Special thanks to our team captains at each grade level for their leadership and enthusiasm as we approached our final deadline,” Schnurr said.
