Benjamin Initiates Collection for Hurricane Harvey Victims

All three divisions of The Benjamin School mobilized as one, coming together to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The School held a collection drive for the victims of the devastating storm, collecting items from socks to diapers. Items were dropped off at the administrative offices of the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools and were delivered to Texas residents.

Students, faculty members and parents collected non-perishable foods, diapers and wipes, toiletries, animal food, sunscreen and additional much needed items during the drive. David and Helen Darby, whose three children attend Benjamin, donated an entire flat bed full of hurricane supplies.

“The Lower School families generously came to aid of victims of Hurricane Harvey. At the end of each of the three days of the drive, the Lower School Office was packed to the gills with donations! I was touched by the selflessness of our families. I can always count on the Benjamin School community to come together and help those in need,” said Head of Lower School Kristen Sheehan.
