Boys Golf Team Wins State Championship

The Benjamin boys golf team cruised to a 1A state championship win for the second time in three years.

The team earned a 4-under 572, winning the tournament by 5-shots.

“I’m very proud of the way these student-athletes played with poise, confidence, and determination,” said coach Toby Harbeck, who has led the team to five state championship wins over the course of his 42 year career as varsity coach.

Juniors led the team with Andrew Tsar shooting 5-under, Charlie Woods shooting 2-under, and Brooks Colton even par.

“We are so happy and proud of our boys varsity golf team. They came into the season the #1 ranked team in the state of Florida and will end the season as the  #1 ranked team. They showed tremendous humility, grit and perseverance throughout the season. They are such an incredibly talented group of student-athletes, proving it by winning the state championship,” said Director of Athletics Ryan Smith ‘93.
