US Named AP Platinum School for Third Consecutive Year
The Upper School earned national recognition from the College Board AP Program, receiving Platinum School status, the highest honor the organization bestows on AP schools, for the third consecutive year.
The distinction is part of the College Board’s AP School Honor Roll, launched in the fall of 2023 to recognize schools demonstrating excellence in Advanced Placement participation.
“More specifically, to earn Platinum status, which is the highest award-level, ahead of bronze, silver, and gold, schools were required to meet rigorous benchmarks,” said Head of Upper School Fletcher Carr.
Those benchmarks include: at least 80 percent of graduating students who must have taken one or more AP courses, 50 percent or more must have earned a qualifying score of three or higher on an AP exam, and schools must demonstrate a strong commitment to expanding access to AP opportunities for all students.
Carr said the distinction puts Benjamin in the top 6 percent of all AP schools in the United States and Canada.
“...An impressive recognition of the excellent work our students and teachers are doing,” he said.
