One of the most meaningful traditions we celebrate each year is the Middle School Honor Code Assembly. On this special occasion, our sixth, seventh, and eighth graders make a public pledge to uphold our Honor Code by signing their names in a book that will follow them throughout their Middle School journey. It is a symbolic act, but also a deeply personal commitment—one that connects each student to a legacy of integrity, responsibility, and respect.

This year, Assistant Enrollment Director Andrew Marsiglio addressed the students, sharing heartfelt reflections on the ways he has seen our values lived out on campus each day. His words reminded us that the Honor Code is not just a statement to memorize, but a compass for the choices our students make in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in their relationships.

“I will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate anyone who does.” These simple but powerful words form the foundation of our Honor Code, and they reflect a standard that challenges every Benjamin student to choose honesty and courage.

At The Benjamin School, we believe integrity is not just one of the Twelve Benjamin Values—it is the very core of them all. To see our Middle School students embrace this commitment at such a formative stage in their lives fills me with pride and optimism for the future. Each signature in that Honor Code book is a reminder that our community is built on trust.

As Head of School, I am proud of the seriousness with which our students approach this tradition, and I am inspired by their willingness to hold themselves—and each other—to the highest standards.
