Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The mission of the Diversity Committee is to support the overall mission of The Benjamin School by providing a challenging college preparatory education to a diverse student body in a structured, nurturing community environment.

The committee helps to cultivate an appreciation for the broad ethnic, cultural, racial, and religious diversity of the School, community, nation and world in the following ways:
  • By creating a diverse educational community within which each member feels respected and supported.
  • By teaching and modeling sensitivity.
  • The exchange of ideas, and understanding with regard to race, religion, socioeconomic status, and other individual characteristics.
  • By supporting and encouraging increased diversity in student enrollment, faculty, administration and school committees.
  • By encouraging school practices and policies that reflect a long-range commitment to diversity.
  • By establishing a strong support system for students, families, faculty and administrators who reflect the school's diversity.
