The Upper School Varsity Speech and Debate Team, lead by English teacher John Peruggia, captured a handful of impressive awards at their first tournament of the year.
Seventeen students from grades nine through 12 each competed in Congressional debates on Saturday, September 24th, at Palm Beach Gardens high school.
The students lobbied for a broad spectrum of issues ranging from international relations with Venezuela to financial equity in governmental campaigns.
The Benjamin team’s bill focused on gender equity in the Selective Service program.
