Dear Benjamin Families,
It is my great pleasure to announce Mrs. Maggie Granados has been appointed as our new Head of Lower School. After an extensive nationwide search, Mrs. Granados stood out as the most exceptional candidate to lead our WOW-Grade 5 program when Dr. Sheehan assumes her position as Assistant Head of School this fall.
Mrs. Granados comes to Benjamin from Saint John’s School in Shrewsbury, MA, where she currently leads a team of seventy teachers, staff, and administrators. With a BA from The College of the Holy Cross and an MA from Columbia University’s prestigious Teaching College, Mrs. Granados has dedicated her career to all aspects of education. From teaching AP US History, sixth-grade science, and Kindergarten to serving as division head in lower, middle, and high schools in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, her broad career has prepared her well for this position. Mrs. Granados has an enthusiasm for elementary-level curriculum development as well as a keen understanding of the many developmental stages of students in a lower school. We were fortunate to have many qualified applicants for this role, but Mrs. Granados stood out for her warm and gregarious personality and her alignment with Benjamin’s mission and values.
Mrs. Granados will officially join our team in the middle of July, before the 2024-2025 school year. She is eager to meet the members of our community, and I know that you will join me in giving her a generous TBS welcome.
