Benjamin Welcomes New Teachers for 2017-18 School Year

Benjamin welcomed 11 new teachers across all three divisions for the 2017-18 school year. The new members of the Benjamin community come with an impressive list of credentials and expertise.

The lower school welcomed four new teachers, including alumna and member of the “14-Year Club” Emily Kelly.

The middle school welcomed four new teachers, including Kimberly Latimer who holds a J.D. from Brigham Young University. Latimer has lived and studied at several universities in China and will serve as the Middle School’s Mandarin Chinese teacher. Susan Kirkman is rejoining the Middle School English department after returning to Benjamin after many years.

The upper school welcomed three new teachers and a new college counseling team this year. The roster includes Beverly Gustafson, a multi-degreed French teacher hailing from California and Dr. Renea Yates, who joins the upper school team as a member of the Student Services Department. She comes to Benjamin from Quincy, Illinois.

The new college counseling team - Anna Wright, Bekka Goldberg and Alain Durang - comes to Benjamin with multiple degrees and expansive experience.
